Hot Barrel Cats flips the classic tower defense formula on its head. Cute feline soldiers line a wall and fire at swarming fungi that march toward your gate. Every shot heats a cat. When the burn timer ends, the cat jams and stops firing until it cools. Your job is to keep the cats firing, cool them fast, and upgrade them by merging.
Desktop: drag cats with the mouse or click and click the target. Esc pauses, M mutes. Mobile: drag with your finger or tap then tap the target. Wall cats shoot. Drag hot ones down to cool. Drop a cat on its twin to merge.
Each level presents a new wave of mildew. You have 16 hand‑tuned stages, each with 1‑3 stars. Boss fights on levels 8, 12, and 16 force you to focus on heat instead of health. The key to success is timing. Let a cat fire until it heats, then drag it down before it jams. When a cat is cool, drop it next to an identical tier. The merge creates a stronger tier that starts cool, giving you a fresh burst of firepower.
Upgrade logic matters. The higher the tier, the more damage you deal, but the longer the burn time. Balance the number of cats on the wall with the heat capacity of each. Keep a small pool of low‑tier cats ready to drop in if a higher tier jams. Coins earned after each level can be spent in the cafe on perks that reduce burn time or increase firing rate. Daily rewards and achievements add extra coins and unlock new skins.
Because the game runs in HTML5, you can play on any device. The controls adapt to desktop and mobile, keeping the experience casual yet sharp. The 2‑D pixel art style keeps the visuals cute while the heat mechanic adds a fresh twist to tower defense. The soundtrack loops in a playful rhythm that matches the frantic pace of the fight.
Every wave feels like a new puzzle. You must decide which cats to keep active, which to cool, and when to
